The Writing Room

I recently moved to New York City; so I guess you could still consider me a tourist. I constantly find myself frolicking around the city, taking pictures, and exploring the wide variety of stores & restaurants that the city has to offer. If you’re ever on the Upper East Side, I’m begging you to have  brunch, lunch, or even dinner at The Writing Room; located on 2nd ave between 88th and 89th.

The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I completely forgot we were in the city anymore. The atmosphere  completely changed from the crazy city, to a quiet elegantly designed dining area. I swear, I felt like I was at a lodge in Vermont or New Hampshire. *You’ll learn, I love locations that make me feel like I’m not in the city, and create a completely new atmosphere.* The menu choices vary, depending on the time of day you go, but they have a huge variety of entrees. My favorite thing about The Writing Room, has to be their Prix Fixe meals; These meals have a set price, and allows you to choose and create your own personalized meal. *$20-Brunch, $29-Lunch, & $40-Dinner* I usually always go at brunch time, which includes: Any one entree and one brunch cocktail. You can check the whole menu out on their website!

My friend Emilie and I both ended up getting the chicken and waffles entree, with a mimosa to wash it down. She didn’t even wait for me to take a picture of our dishes, before she started to devour her chicken! She laughed and said, “It just looked too good, I’m sorry!”. Right after I took my first bite, I totally understood her reasoning.
